Give them sheet music with the lyrics. I don’t know what % of Canadians / Quebecois know all the lyrics to the Star Spangled Banner or what % of Americans know those to O Canada, but it’d be a start.

in NBA, a technical foul can be called to the home team if the fans are too rowdy.
so, in NHL home team should be assessed an unsportsman like conduct if fans are being idiots and booing anthems. Friggin Americans!!

In countries like the US and Canada, we have the freedom to be respectful or disrespectful during a national anthem, including our own.
Freedom comes with a price…namely, people using their freedom to be ignorant and rude.

I agree with Bob, we may as well get rid of it. It in theory does not represent the teams yet when I go see Mtl vs Ottawa I only hear O Canada, and I’m sure Joe doesn’t hear O Canada when Philly hosts the Pens.
If we sang then to represent the players we would be singing 10 anthems at some games.

YES! Don’t PLAY IT!!
I mean, what is the sense of it anyways? They were talking about that during a Canadian Sports Show here yesterday…..apparently (before my time) they used to play it at movie theaters before the show too…….we certainly don’t miss it there……so why would we miss it at a sports event- ANOTHER form of entertainment.
I also agree with Noah….I don’t need to be reminded of what country I live in.
