What Is The Difference Between Nhl Center Ice And Nhl Network?

February 17, 2010 by johnB 4 Comments »

I’ve been doing ALOT of research on NHL center ice for Dish Network this year (07-08). And people are saying there almost close to having NHL network and there still wrapping up negotiations with the HD portion. Now NHL center ice is from indemand and NHL network is from comcast. On one site i looked at it said that Dish Network has announced that they will be using the NHL network with comcast. What is better NHLCI and indemand or NHL network and comcast?

The NHL Network is a 24 hour hockey news network. They mainly show highlights and are staffed by Gary Green and Bob Errey (among others). I’m not aware they will be showing any live games. If they are….I would like to know that too.
NHL Centre Ice only shows live games, anywhere from 1 to 14 per night (there are two Saturdays this year with 14 games), and you choose whichever game you want to watch.

Nhl Centre Ice is the NHL package that will broadcast every single nhl game
nhl network is just like sportscentre, they have recaps of the day and other shows like classic nhl games and top 10 in hockey!
NHL network also broacasts around 22 games a season!
    i have both so i shouldn’t worry!

You’ve got pretty much the answers already but I’ll add that the NHL network does have live games. Not many and usually on Sunday afternoons. During playoffs in round one they had some of the Atlanta-NYR series (as that was not on CBC or TSN/RDS).
